The Sun Is A Significant Factor That Helps To Support Life. Which Of The Following Earth- Sun Relationships?
1.The sun’s gravity keeps Earth from flying off into space.
2.Earth is the 4th planet from the Sun, which is a perfect distance to utilize the Sun’s energy.
3.The Sun is key to dynamic processes on Earth, like weather, climate, and cycling of water.
4.If Earth were any farther from the Sun, more ice would form reflecting more heat and making the planet similar to Mars.

1. True, but nowadays it is looked at as the sun’s mass curves space so that the earth follows the gravitational well of that curved space. Without the sun the earth would move in a straight line.
2. Third planet from the sun. It is in the Goldilocks zone, yes.
3. The sun is key, definitely.
4. Yes and no. The atmosphere on Earth has much to do with how cold or hot it gets. More ice would form, thus increasing the Earth’s albedo to reflect more sunlight back into space, and so it would get even colder. But Mars has very little ability to retain heat, even though it has a low albedo because (1) it is geologically dead — no vulcanism, no molten core, and (2) its atmosphere is too thin.
Whats the question…? Those are all valid, and important.
